Nilanjan’s printmaking techniques fascinate me to contemplate about the couple impression over bamboo trees. How the emotion intermingles between nature and human. To finding objects such like sleeper, condom and impression in the surrounding of bamboo jungle, so called couple paradise. I was expecting miniature from of krishna garh painting of 18 century school of Rajasthan style, so called millan of radha and Krishna. However, it was intellectual represented by artist nilanjan’s printmaking techniques of tressing from nature from bamboo jungle.

Poem: prayer for a bamboo-flowering famine, by [karen an- hwei lee].
May we blossom every fifty years Without afflicting the people.
May our seedpods nourish rodents Who roam our groves Without rebuking lands with famine.
May sweet potatoes and rice save us.
May ginger and turmeric flourish to the bitter distaste of rats while tresses of bamboo flowers changeling white wasps load the groves with seed in rare perennial synchrony. May our sisters flower a masse hundreds of square miles apart in the pale night. May our shoots pray a silent vision of healing, us rhizome-laden memories; yes, we share our hunger only once on this earth, my love. Let us bless our fruit and multiply.

Poem: filtered pain by [ Car alyn Defelice]
With bamboo husks scattered, my last bones shattered.
We mourn a loss of bliss, draped in fear learnt to dismiss, I call for all to gather. The stalks once in my heart, intertwined; and broke apart.
I never knew how weak I’d gotten, as my glacial mind deforested, and from within; resilience departed.
My thoughts cannot grow, pierced by what I do not know. I’m getting colder, I am not a soldier, I’m a victim to the blow.
As the last bit of me was hollowed out, I spoke the words of hope thought my mouth;” I will learn to accept the pain, rather than soaking it in my veins, I’ll filter it to the ground,”
Established of bamboo trees at cubbon park in 19 centuries by Sri Chamarajendra Wodeyar and regulated by Horticulture Department of the Karnataka Government
When I was looking the surrounding of Cubbon Park. I discovered that the bamboo fragrance of bamboo tree, in 40 years of duration and 200 varieties, this was the bamboo rice that grew out of a dying bamboo shoot. This is the life cycle of bamboo tree. It is said that the bamboo rice harvesting is a major source of income for tribal communities living in the interiors of way and sanctuary in Kerala and also south India. It was located at the heart of the city in central administrative area. The landscaping in the park creatively integrates natural rocks outcrops with thickets of trees, massive bamboos, with grassy expanse and flowerbeds and regulated by horticultural department of the government of Karnataka.

Poem: Dry soil by [ josh]
Bamboo spine bones and all stand tall Soak
up the sour and the sweet Remove yourself from soil so dry
Plant your body and your soul in self- loving hands
Sway with the wind but remember to create your own someday Nurture your warmth don’t let it die
You are free to grow in this landscape. Remind your mind’s eye. This is your time.
Bamboo rice: It is special rice that is grown out of a dying bamboo shoot. The bamboo rice is rich in carbohdrates, fiber and protein.
Basically, I inspired from miniature painting in an 1820 painting showing a Hindu funeral procession in south India. The pyre is to the left, near a river the lead mourner is walking in front, the dead body is wrapped in white and is being carried to the cremation pyre, relatives and friends follow. It means “last sacrifice”.
The samskar above shows the body wrapped in saffron cloth on a pyre.

The branch of biology that deals with the relations of organisms to one another and to their physical surrounding.
My work has been influenced by the social realities surrounding me. I have been addressing the issues related to community of farmer of India. I have heard of narratives related to exploitation and continuously converting them into my works.
Being raised amidst the farmer community of rural Odisha,I have heard of narratives related to exploitation and continuously them into my works.
During that resident, I wanted to push this idea further and came to know as per the records of the national crime bureau, the tendency of homicide of the farmer in Karnataka is higher than the other states of India. The movement took to fight the age-old malpractices and secure the rights of the farmer. The central demand was to ensure that each and every farmer gets a percentage of the production profit for which they toil in the field around the year. Even today the government fails to ensure social/ agricultural security to the farmer which is leading to the increasing numbers of suicide within the farmer community.
I metaphorically wanted to represent the socio- economic crisis and life style of the farmers with the life cycle of bamboo and also, I engaged with such histories of oppression often merging such realities with surrealist imageries in order to lend a new voice to these issues where realities and expectation merge with each other. In my process I wanted to create and installation with collected bamboo sample, video and drawing which represent this idea.
